Learning is a complex process. Student learning can be adversely affected by the conditions under which it occurs. As your elected board member, I would focus on major problems that students face that affect learning.
Safety and Wellness
It is imperative to ensure the safety and well being of students and educators by addressing processes and protocols of the district regarding learning and working environments. These would include address building and infrastructure needs to facilitate learning. In addition, ensure appropriate staffing and/or resources to provide the necessary support for student mental health and well-being.
Retaining and Recruiting Highly Qualified Employees
Ensure appropriate staffing to provide robust learning opportunities for students and provide the necessary support for student mental health and well-being. Students deserve access to a high quality education.
Accountability and Transparency
As a Board Trustee, I will work to ensuring that funding is allocated properly so that the diverse student population receive a quality education that prepares them to be active participants of a global society.
