Elva Lopez-Zepeda

• My name is Elva Lopez-Zepeda, and I am seeking re-election as the Area 3 Trustee for the Sweetwater Union High School District.

• As a retired teacher with over 35 years of experience in education, I remain committed to serving Sweetwater’s students and families with passion and integrity.

• I am committed to continuing my service to the Sweetwater Union High School District with integrity and a clear vision for our students’ future.

Committed to Sweetwater’s future through education and community.

Education

• Supporting quality education that empowers every student to meet the future challenges of tomorrow.

• Provide access to educational programs, align district directives with student needs, and implement policies that eliminate barriers to student success.

• Creating opportunities for young people to lead and succeed through mentorship and engagement programs.

Fiscal responsibility

• Continue promoting fiscal accountability and transparency for district stakeholders, ensuring that funding is allocated properly so that diverse student populations receive a quality education that prepares them to be active participants in a global society.

• Monitor declining enrollment and work collaboratively to minimize its impact on the budgets and staffing.

• Continue to advocate at the federal and state levels to secure full funding of the district’s education programs, in particular Special Education.

• Engaging with supporters to create lasting change together.

• Building strong connections among schools, parents, and local organizations.

• Building strong connections that uplift our neighborhoods.

• Prioritize transparent leadership and active engagement to ensure voices in Area 3 are heard and valued.
